Bruins hope to score smiles...
It was a fairly easygoing practice for the B’s as they had one skate out the door in anticipation of the toy delivery this afternoon.

The Bruins used a fair amount of their on-ice time practicing breakouts via line rushes.

The lines were the same as last night:
Tenkrat - Savard - Murray
Sturm-Bergeron-Boyes
Mowers-Primeau-Donovan
Chistov-Stastny-Hoggan

The defense was all on the ice:
Alberts, Chara, Jurcina, Mara, B.Stuart and York

Marc Savard seemed a little angry at the equipment during the session.

He launched a puck into the upper deck with a lacrosse style move and then frisbeed his powder blue stick into the lower bowl.

An alert Bruins staff member, who got a thankful wave from Savard, retrieved the "errant" stick several rows into the loge.

Unfortunately, the puck was lost forever.

Goalies coach Bob Essensa, who rarely mans the wipe-board during practice, was the target of some hoots and hollers as he diagrammed a shooting drill.

"Woo, Bob!" was the cry when he picked up the dry erase marker.

After practice the team broke down into two groups.

The smaller group worked on one-timers, while a larger group worked with the goalies, giving them shots from many different angles.

Voices in the room
"We’re lucky that we are able to do this. When I think about my kids and if they were in the hospital over the holidays, that’s pretty sad. But hopefully, for a little bit, they don’t have to think about what is going on…I think every team in the league does something like this. Guys want to do it and they look forward to doing it. This is a way for us to give back and do it as a team and everybody appreciates it."
Forward, Shean Donovan, on the visiting the hospitals

"There’s no better feeling than being able to give back to kids going through hard times…it’s great to be able to see the smiles on their faces…I just can’t imagine seeing my kids go through the tough times that these kids are going through. I am very fortunate to have two healthy kids and some parents go through some really tough times."
Forward, Wayne Primeau, on the Toy Distribution

"I am not in that situation, but if I was, I could only hope that there would be people who would contribute to bringing a smile to a kid’s face, even if it only lasts five minutes…just that one smile, I am looking forward to it…I’ve done other stuff where we’ve gone and chatted with some of the children and that alone was special for them. This should be enjoyable, especially with the loss last night. Going and giving back to the community like this will cheer everybody up."
Forward, Mark Mowers, on the visits this afternoon
