    Ice Chips
Brian Finley was on the ice this morning and looks to be progressing nicely after his injury. He took turns in net, spelling Tim Thomas and Hannu Toivonen.

Both Toivonen and Thomas were extraordinarily intense today and both goaltenders could be seen yelling at themselves after missing a shot.

The Bruins practiced the PK/PP today and also switched over to breakouts resulting in 3-on-1’s and 2-on-0’s.

The goalies seemed to be working on rebound control and consistently tried to push the pucks away from the trailing forwards when the pucks hit their pads.

    Post Practice Protests
Many of you know that the Bruins usually have 3-on-3 or 4-on-4 games after the main practice session.

Well, today, there was a ’controversy’ that led to a ’protest’ after practice when the post-session shinny game turned "ugly."

Self-appointed commissioner Marc Savard, laughed, and told me that his opponents "are liars."

Someone else walked in, I missed who it was, and started yelling "too many rules. Too many rules."

It also seems that there was a controversial goal and that Savard’s archrival squad scored and skipped off the ice, leaving the Savard squad stunned.

Mark Mowers is probably involved -- the sneaky UNH alum is always starting trouble.

In any case, Brad Boyes was clearly ’perplexed’ by the turn of events.

"It was brutal…they scored and said, ’Game over.’ And I did not know what was going on," said Boyes.

Stay tuned for more good-natured controversy on As the Puck Turns.
