Boston Bruins Assign Jeff Hoggan to Providence (AHL)
BOSTON, MA - Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today that the club has assigned left-winger Jeff Hoggan to the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League (AHL). Hoggan played for Boston last night in the 6-5 victory over the Montreal Canadiens.

Hoggan, a 28-year old first-year Bruin, has played 14 games for Boston this season tallying one assist. He began the season in Boston before being assigned to Providence on November 11. He was recalled to Boston on an emergency basis December 3.

While with Providence this season, Hoggan has played in four games, notching three assists. Last year, in his first full NHL season, Hoggan played 52 games for St. Louis scoring two goals and recording six assists.

The Hope, British Columbia native signed his first professional contract with Minnesota as a free agent in 2002 after the conclusion of his collegiate career at the University of Nebraska-Omaha.

The Bruins return home to the TD Banknorth Garden on Thursday night when they host the Toronto Maple Leafs at 7:00 p.m. ET. The game can be seen live on NESN and heard live on WBZ Radio. Thursday night's home game will feature a post-game concert by rock band State Radio. Thursday night is also Student Night, which entitles students to purchase select seats at half price with a valid student ID.
