Legion of Doom, "Z" Style?
It was an interesting day at practice, folks.

Veeeeeeeeeeeeeeery interesting.

Now, take a deep breath, don’t get too excited, but here was the top line, true believers:

Brad Stuart-Zdeno Chara-Glen Murray

Calm down everybody, calm down.

There is nothing to this. Seriously.

I think Coach Lewis was just having a little fun. With PJ and Savvy not up to practice today, and with six D available to skate…you get the picture.

It was fun to watch, however. Imagine Big "Z" at center.

"Axie blocked a shot yesterday and is just staying off the ice for treatment," said Lewis. "Savvy wasn’t feeling really good so he is going to meet us at the airplane."

"I think it’s easier for a defenseman to play forward, rather than a forward play defense," said Coach.

But Dave was very blunt when asked if the above lineup, with Brad Stuart playing forward, would ever happen.

"That would be dumb, by the coaches," he said. "Habby and Houda would be stupid for doing that."

And then he laughed -- with me, not at me, of course.

Beyond the slightly off-kilter first line, the other lines were the same.

The defense all skated, too:
Brad Stuart, Mark Stuart, Chara, Mara, Jurcina, York, Dempsey and Alberts.

Yorkie is not available, but is progressing rapidly.

Axelsson is a wait-and-see-tomorrow situation, said Coach, who added, "If he can’t [go] we’ll bring someone up…and we might bring someone up just in case, also."

Meanwhile, Mark Stuart is staying with the club for the time being, after becoming a human novelty item yesterday.

"He’s back and he’s going to get himself in the lineup," said Coach. "We did it the other day for a precautionary reason. And now we are doing it…to put him in the lineup."

Today the team, forwards and defense, took a lot of shots on goal. Tim Thomas was seen working on his puck and rebound control and his transition to a breakout -- although his passing and breakout prowess was great on Monday night and he nearly had a couple of assists.

And oh yah, assuming Tim’s head is ok, he will play in Pittsburgh.

Words, words, words
"It’s mostly the same game. It’s your game plan and they have to counteract your game plan. We don’t do a whole lot of changing, unless we are matching up a line with ’Z’ or somebody. But beyond that, we just play our game and obviously adjust on special teams…and hopefully keep getting goals and get back on track."
Defenseman, Andrew Alberts, on playing the B’s game versus Pittsburgh

"Well, we know that they have a couple of powerful forwards there in Crosby and Malkin, and we have to just go out and play the way that we are capable of playing -- the style we want to play and if we do that, then we will be successful."
Defenseman, Paul Mara, on playing Pittsburgh

"The third was a good period for us. It’s unfortunate that we didn’t start out the first period like that. If we would have played the entire game like we played the third period we would have had a better result. I think we have to build from that third period and bring it into tomorrow."
Assistant Captain, Patrice Bergeron, on playing with conviction with Pittsburgh

And one more thing
Hey, as some of you may know, my comments tab has not been working -- until today. So, if you’ve asked me a question in the last few days and I have not answered, give it another shot. The problem seems to be fixed.
