I think HD is great for sports, nature, and just about anything else on TV. I don’t think it will be good for the nightly news though.
Imagine being an anchor with a big zit on your nose. You know HD will show it and most likely with some high def color. Do we really need to see that?
Or, how about a close-up of the sports guy and you get a glimpse of that tangled mess of ear hair. Again, not much need for high def there.
I think there is a chance that news anchors around the world will boycott HDTV. I am starting to think we should be very supportive of their plight.
