Local non-profit honors Boston Bruins wives
On March 31, Arlington based non-profit, The Children’s Room, Center for Grieving Children and Teenagers, Inc., will honor the Boston Bruins Wives at the organization’s 7th Annual Memories Benefit and Auction Gala. In 2003, The Children’s Room was able to purchase a permanent home in Arlington thanks to proceeds donated by the Boston Bruins Wives Annual Charity Carnival.

To thank the Boston Bruins Wives for their continued support, The Children’s Room, Center for Grieving Children and Teenagers, Inc. will honor the women at its 7th Annual Memories Benefit Auction and Dinner to be held at the Westin Hotel in Waltham on March 31st. Past honorees include Arlington Board of Selectman Chair Jack Hurd. This year’s event promises to be entertaining with local celebrities WCVB 5’s Susan Wornick and WBZ CBS 4’s I-team reporter Joe Bergantino serving as Masters of Ceremonies for the evenings’ festivities including a live and silent auction.

Invited guests include community leaders, corporations, local business owners, and community members from the Greater Boston and Metro West area. “The Children’s Room is happy to honor the Boston Bruins Wives for their generous support of our organization and commitment to children’s causes in the Greater Boston area” says Chris Nind, Executive Director of The Children’s Room.

The Children’s Room offers caring support for children, teenagers and families who are grieving the loss of a parent or sibling. The event is one of the major fundraisers for the organization that supports more than 135 children and 75 families in the Greater Boston and Metro West areas through a generous network of unpaid volunteers who provide support at sites in Arlington and Framingham.

For tickets to the March 31st Children’s Room Memories: Forget Me Not Benefit and Auction Gala at the Westin Hotel Waltham or to learn more about The Children’s Room, go to www.childrensroom.org or call 781-641-4741.
