Bruins assign eight players to Providence

Bruins General Manager Mike O’Connell announced today that the Bruins have assigned eight players from Boston’s training camp to the team’s American Hockey League affiliate in Providence. There are 24 players remaining in Boston’s training camp.
Assigned to Providence (AHL) were forwards Zdenek Blatny, Eric Healey, Pat Leahy, Eric Nickulas, Tyler Redenbach and Nate Thompson and defensemen Jonathan Girard and Mark Stuart.
The Boston Bruins conclude their pre-season schedule this weekend, hosting the New York Rangers on Saturday, October 1 at the TD Banknorth Garden (7:00 p.m.; WBZ Radio and NESN. They will open their 2005-06 regular season hosting the Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday, October 5 (7:00 p.m.; WBZ Radio and NESN).
