BOSTON, Mass. - The Bruins were back at the Garden this morning with a skating session in preparation for tonight's game. Three players from Providence (AHL) were called up for the game. Those players are Eric Healey, Pat Leahy, and Ben Walter.
It's a busy stretch for the B's, as they continue their pre-season schedule with 3 games in 3 days, beginning with their pre-season home opener against the New York Islanders tonight at 7:00 p.m. at the TD Banknorth Garden. Boston Bruins (1-1-0) vs. New York Islanders (1-1-0)
Tonight’s game is the first of two pre-season games between the two teams. Both teams enter the game with a pre-season record of 1-1-0. The Bruins lost 5-0 to Toronto in their pre-season opener on Tuesday in Hamilton, Ontario, but rebounded with a 5-4 overtime win over the Penguins the following night in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
The Islanders opened up the pre-season with 5-1 win over the New York Rangers at the Nassau Coliseum, but fell to the Philadelphia Flyers, 2-1, on Wednesday at the Sovereign Bank Arena in Trenton, New Jersey.
The schedule resumes tomorrow night against the same New York Islanders on Saturday, September 24 at the Verizon Wireless Center in Manchester NH (7:30 p.m.; WBZ Radio) and at the New York Rangers on Sunday, September 25 (5:00 p.m.; WBZ Radio).
