Boston Bruins Recall Petr Kalus and Mark Stuart

Boston -- Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today that the club has recalled right-winger Petr Kalus and defenseman Mark Stuart. The club has also assigned center Ben Walter to the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League (AHL). Kalus and Stuart will both be at the Bruins’ practice today at Noon in at Ristuccia Memorial Arena in Wilmington, MA.
Kalus, 19-years old from Ostrava, Czech Republic, was Boston’s second pick (39th overall) in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. Before being recalled today, Kalus was in his first AHL season, appearing in 40 games for the Providence Bruins, tallying 13 goals and 17 assists. He has not appeared in any NHL action to this point.
Stuart, a second-year player from Rochester, Minnesota and Colorado College, has played 11 games with the Bruins this season, tallying one assist. While with Providence this season, the 22-year old Stuart has played 42 games, scoring four goals and registering 15 assists.
Walter, 22-years old from Beaconsfield, Quebec, was drafted by Boston with their fifth pick (160th overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. Since being recalled by the Bruins on March 15, Walter appeared in four NHL games, with the most recent coming last night when he played 6:10 in Boston’s 6-3 loss to Montreal.
This year in Providence, Walter has played in 62 games, scored 22 goals and registered 34 assists. Prior to turning professional, Walter spent three seasons playing for UMASS-Lowell.
The Bruins return to action tomorrow, Saturday, March 24 when they host the New York Rangers in a 1:00 p.m. ET matinee at the TD Banknorth Garden.
