Played his first NHL game on Jan. 10 at Pittsburgh and his first three NHL games were played vs. his hometown Penguins before he played his fourth game in Montreal ... Was named Providence’s Best Defenseman as voted by his team- mates in their end of season awards ... Was recalled again to Boston for the playoff run, but did not play a post-season game ... College: Played two seasons of college hockey at Ohio State University with 11-27=38 totals and 145 penalty minutes in 80 career college games ... Had 5-15=20 totals in 41 games during his freshman season in 2008-09 and was named to the CCHA’s All-Rookie Team that season, becoming the first Buckeye defenseman named to the team in ten years ... Was voted the team’s Most Valuable Freshman and Best Defensive Player that season as well ... Had 6-12=18 totals with 99 PIM in 39 games in 2009-10 with five of the six goals coming on the power play ... Juniors: Played two seasons in the USHL with the Lincoln Stars with 7-43=50 totals and 230 PIM in 117 regular season games and 1-4=5 totals and 12 PIM in 11 playoff contests ...
