STARTING GOALTENDERS: Johnson (3-1-0, 2.21 GAA, .917 Save %) vs. McElhinney (1-2-1, 2.81 GAA, .906 Save %). Johnson is 1-0-0 with a 1.87 GAA and .941 save % in one game against Columbus. McElhinney is 0-1-0 with a 3.05 GAA and .897 save % in one career game against Boston.

BRUINS VS BLUE JACKETS LIFETIME: The Bruins and Blue Jackets are meeting for the 15th time tonight with the Bruins holding a 9-3-0-2 record and a 46-29 scoring advantage overall. The Bruins are 4-2-0-0 against the Blue Jackets in six games played in Boston, with the Black & Gold maintaining a 17-13 scoring edge in those contests. The Bruins are 4-1-0 in their last five home games against Columbus with their last loss coming in a 3-2 setback on January 21, 2010.

FIGHT NIGHT: B’s Captain Zdeno Chara dropped the gloves in yesterday’s game for the first time this season in a bout with Brian Boyle of the New York Rangers to complete his Gordie Howe Trick (fifth of his career, third as a Bruin). The Black & Gold have compiled a 50-22-3 record since the 2011-12 season in games in which they have had a fighting penalty, including an 8-2-0 record this season.

POWER ZEE: Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara has notched three goals and one assist in his last four games, including a goal in yesterday’s game against the New York Rangers. As a team, the Bruins are 10-0-0 in games when Chara has registered a point, including 6-0-0 when he scores a goal.

SLICE THE ICE HOLIDAY SKATE AT TD GARDEN: The Boston Bruins will host their fourth annual “Slice the Ice” event to benefit the Boston Bruins Foundation on Sunday, December 1. “Slice the Ice” will take place across four hour and a half sessions starting at 8:00 a.m. and ending at 2:00 p.m. At the event fans will have the opportunity to skate on the TD Garden ice and take pictures on the Bruins bench, at the Bruins goal, in the penalty box, and with the Zamboni® ice resurfacing machine. Fans will then be taken on a tour of the Boston Bruins locker room followed by a photo op with the 2011 Stanley Cup banner. Fans are encouraged to use this event to stage a unique and memorable family holiday photo.

181 AND COUNTING: Following Friday’s home game against the New York Rangers, the Bruins have sold out 181 consecutive regular season and playoff games at TD Garden. Their last non-sellout was on December 2, 2009 when they hosted the Tampa Bay Lightning and drew 16,553.

BLUE JACKETS NOTEBOOK: Columbus is playing the second game of a back-to-back after defeating the Edmonton Oilers 4-2 last night at home. The Blue Jackets have a 3-1-1 record on the second games of back-to-backs… Defenseman James Wisniewski and centerman Ryan Johansen lead the Blue Jackets with 18 points apiece, Wisniewski leads the team with 16 assists and Johansen leads with nine goals… Wisniewski is tied for seventh in the NHL in scoring among defensemen… Ryan Murray is fourth in blocked shots (38) and power play points (3) among NHL rookie defensemen.

SPECIAL TEAMS: Bruins power play: 12-for-67 (17.9%, 17th NHL), Bruins penalty kill: 69-for-80 (86.3%, 4th NHL)… Blue Jackets power play: 18-for-91 (19.8%, 12th NHL), Blue Jackets penalty kill: 67-for-85 (78.8%, 22nd NHL).
