STATS YOU MAY FIND INTERESTING…

TUUKKA TAMES THE PENGUINS: Bruins goaltender Tuukka Rask allowed just two goals by the Penguins in this four-game series. That is a new club record for fewest goals allowed in a four-game series, besting their previous mark of five allowed to the Montreal Maroons in the 1930 Semifinal and to Toronto in the 1969 Quarterfinal series. Rask currently leads all postseason goaltenders in save percentage (.943) and is second in goals against average (1.75).

BRUINS STATISTICAL LEADERS: David Krejci leads all NHL postseason scoring with 21 points (9-12=21) and goals (nine) giving him 68 career postseason points (9-12=21) in 75 games. Krejci’s linemate Nathan Horton ranks second in NHL playoff scoring have notched 21 points (7-10=17) through 16 games… The Bruins own the top four spots in NHL plus/minus rating this postseason with Horton’s plus-21, Krejci’s plus-14, Milan Lucic’s plus-13, and Zdeno Chara’s plus-12… 22-year-old Torey Krug leads all NHL rookies in postseason goals (four) and power play goals (three). Krug also leads all NHL rookies in points with his six tallies (4-2=6) so far this postseason.

STREAKING: Bruins forwards Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand extend their point streaks with their assists on the Adam McQuaid goal in Game Four. Bergeron now has 2-2=4 totals in three straight games. Marchand has had similar success notching two goals and two assists in three straight games and has compiled 4-7=11 totals in his last 10 games.

B’S DEFENSEMEN CHIPPING IN: Adam McQuaid’s game winning goal in Game Four against the Pittsburgh Penguins marked the 35th point and 15th goal by a Bruins defenseman this postseason. Boston’s blueliners have now accounted for 25.4% (35/138) of the Bruins point production and 30% (15/50) of their goal scoring in the 2013 playoffs. Johnny Boychuk ranks second among NHL defensemen in scoring with five goals while Torey Krug ranks third among NHL blueliners with four. Bruins Captain Zdeno Chara leads the Boston D-men contingent with 11 points (2-9=11), which ranks third among all NHL defensemen this postseason. Chara also leads all NHL blueliner.

162 AND COUNTING: Following Friday’s home game at the TD Garden, the Bruins have sold out their last 162 home games, including regular season and playoffs. This sellout streak began more than three years ago on December 5, 2009 against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The last game the Bruins did not have 17,565 in attendance at the Garden was on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 when they hosted the Tampa Bay Lightning (16,553).

BOSTON MEDIA TWEET OF THE WEEK (TOTW): The Boston media “Tweet of the Week” is in its 20th week of the 2012-13 season. Last week, Kevin Paul Dupont notched a win to move his way up the leaderboard, but this week DJ Bean takes it home with his tweet from Game 3 against the Penguins:

@DJ_Bean: "Crazy thing is that if you told me a Bruins player would play nearly a minute on a broken leg, I would have had 5+ guesses as to who it was"

PREVIOUS PROSPECT REPORT SUMMARY: The Bruins Communications staff sent out their 14th edition of the Boston Bruins Prospect Report on May 30. POSTSEASON B’S JACKET & FAN BANNER TRACKER…

B’S JACKET TALLY: After a Bruins win, the team has begun awarding an Army Rangers jacket to the player who had the best game. The player then wears the jacket in the locker room during the media access period and hangs it in his stall until the team’s next win. After the next win, he will select a different teammate to pass it along to. This customized Army Rangers camouflage jacket, which was given to Bruins defenseman Andrew Ference by an active member of the Rangers, is adorned with a Bruins patch on the right shoulder. "They live by a slogan, ‘Rangers Lead the Way’,“ said Ference. “So I think it's fitting to give this to a player that led the way for us in a game. A lot less important than what they're doing but for us, it's important to have guys step up so they get to wear this for the night.” Here’s the jacket tally thus far:

5/1 vs. TOR, Game 1: David Krejci

5/6 vs. TOR, Game 2: Milan Lucic

5/8 vs. TOR, Game 3: Nathan Horton

5/13 vs. TOR, Game 7: Patrice Bergeron

5/16 vs. NYR, Game 1: Zdeno Chara

5/19 vs. NYR, Game 2: Gregory Campbell

5/21 vs. NYR, Game 3: Daniel Paille

5/25 vs. NYR, Game 5: Tuukka Rask

6/5 vs. PIT, Game 3: Jaromir Jagr

6/7 vs. PIT, Game 4: Adam McQuaid

BRUINS HONORARY FAN BANNER CAPTAINS: The Bruins Fan Banner has been passed around the Loge section of TD Garden before playoff games since the 2009 postseason.  In 2011, Honorary Captains were introduced and have traditionally featured prominent Bruins alumni. This year, the Fan Banner Captains will feature a ‘Boston Strong’ theme with individuals chosen from Boston and the Greater Boston Area who protect and serve our community. Here’s a list of the Fan Banner Captains this far this postseason:

TOR, Game 1: Todd Brown, Sean Tierney, Eric Gahagan and Ariane Thibodeau (Bomb Technicians from the Boston area)

TOR, Game 2: Jeff Bauman (Helped authorities identify the suspects after the Boston Marathon events, despite being injured)

OFF THE ICE…

PATRICE’S PALS: As a part of his continuing charitable initiative Patrice’s Pals, Bruins alternate captain Patrice Bergeron invites children from local hospitals and other organizations to experience a Bruins home game from his luxury suite. Children and their families receive goodie bags filled with Bruins memorabilia, a visit from the Bruins Mascot Blades and Bruins Ice Girls, as well as a feature on the Garden HDX. After the game, Patrice’s Pals are escorted to ice level and introduced to Patrice himself who signs autographs and takes pictures with his Pals. This will take place at all Boston Bruins home games during the 2012-13 season.

SAVVY’S SUITE: Boston Bruins forward Marc Savard has partnered with the Brain Injury Center at Children’s Hospital Boston, inviting children who suffer from the effects of Brain Trauma, both physically and psychologically, to attend a Bruins home game in his luxury suite. Children and their families receive goodie bags with Bruins memorabilia and a visit from Bruins Mascot Blades and Bruins Ice Girls. Savard started the program on Thursday, January 12, 2012, and it will continue through the end of the 2013-14 Bruins season.

COMMUNITY TICKET PROGRAM: For the entirety of the Boston Bruins 2012-13 regular season, Bruins Principal and Alternate Governor Charlie Jacobs is donating ten balcony tickets to every home game to children from charitable organizations across New England, who are invited to enjoy a Bruins home game from these donated seats.

BRAD’S BRIGADE IS BACK: The 2012-2013 season marks an exciting new chapter for Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand’s charitable program, “Brad’s Brigade”.  Established in 2010, Marchand’s program invites children from pediatric oncology units across New England to experience a Bruins home game. Children and their families sit in the loge section and are featured on the Garden HDX.  Each family also receives a Brad’s Brigade T-Shirt, a Garden Gold Card and a goodie bag with Bruins memorabilia.  At the conclusion of the game, families are escorted down to ice level where they have the opportunity to meet Marchand and get a photo taken with him.

250K DONATED FOR MARATHON VICTIMS: Boston Bruins owner Jeremy Jacobs has donated $100,000 on behalf of the entire Bruins organization and Bruins players to the recently established ‘One Fund Boston’, whose purpose is to raise money to help those families most affected by the events at the Boston Marathon. The TD Garden, NHL and NHLPA have also made a donation in the amount of $50,000 each to show their support, making the combined total of all parties $250,000.

MARCHAND’S RAFFLE TO BENEFIT THE RICHARD FAMILY: Brad Marchand raffled off his own TD Garden suite for the team’s first home playoff game against the Toronto Maple Leafs on May 1, with all proceeds benefitting the Richard family of Dorchester, whose son Martin passed away following the tragedy at the Boston Marathon. The raffle ended on April 29 and generated $207,000.

BEARD-A-THON: Bruins fans are invited to "Grow One for Boston" by growing their own playoff beard in the annual Bruins 'Beard-A-Thon' for the duration of the team's 2013 Stanley Cup playoff run. Beard growers will raise money for the Boston Bruins Foundation to benefit The One Fund Boston. All proceeds from the 2013 Bruins Beard-A-Thon (minus credit card transaction fees that are typically between 1.5-3%) will be donated on behalf of the Boston Bruins Foundation directly to The One Fund Boston.
