STARTING GOALTENDERS: Rask (19-9-1, 2.32 GAA, .920 Save %) vs. Holtby (22-12-1, 2.61 GAA, .919 Save %). Rask is 0-2-2 with a 3.58 GAA and .868 Save % in four career game against Washington. Holtby is 2-0-0 with a 2.54 GAA and .919 Save % in three career games against Boston.

BRUINS VS CAPITALS LIFETIME: The Bruins and Capitals will meet for the 142nd time tonight with the B’s holding a 74-39-21-7 record with a 479-389 scoring advantage in those games. Boston is 33-21-12-4 in 70 games in Washington with the Bruins holding 231-203 scoring edge. In their last 10 games, the Bruins are 5-3-2 against Washington.

FACEOFF LEADERS: Bruins forward Patrice Bergeron comes into tonight leading the NHL in faceoff percentage, winning puck drops at a 61.8% rate. As a team, Boston leads the NHL as well in faceoff percentage at 56.5%. There have only been seven games this season where the Bruins have recorded less than a 50% mark in faceoffs this season.

MILESTONES APPROACHING: Jay Pandolfo currently sits one game shy of his 900th NHL game.

SOMETHING HOT BRUIN: As the Bruins head into their last two games of the regular season, the B’s have several players with a hot hand. Dennis Seidenberg has been playing especially well of late, notching five points (1-4=5) in his last nine games, including a goal against Tampa Bay on Thursday night. Daniel Paille has been a consistent contributor, registering four goals and two assists in his last 10 contests, giving him 10 goals for the season, which is the fourth time Paille has reached that mark and the first time since the 2009-10 season.  Brad Marchand has continued his success as the Black & Gold approach the playoffs, tallying 3-1=4 totals in three of his last four games with 4-2=6 totals in his last seven. Tyler Seguin continues to build momentum with just two games remaining in the regular season, having registered 4-2=6 totals in his last eight games. Bruins forward Gregory Campbell has demonstrated some offensive prowess of late, accumulating two goals and four assists in his last nine games played. Finally, Bruins enforcer Shawn Thornton, has shown his offensive touch providing the puck logistics to earn himself two assists in the last three games.

CAPITALS NOTEBOOK: The Capitals clinched their sixth-straight playoff berth on April 23 vs. Winnipeg, marking the longest streak of playoff appearances in franchise history since their 14-straight postseason trips from the 1982-83 season through 1995-96…Alex Ovechkin leads the league in goals scored with 32 and has recorded 23 goals and 11 assists in his last 22 games played…Nicklas Backstrom has recorded two goals and 15 assists in 12 games during the month of April. Backstrom currently ranks third in the NHL in assists (40) and ninth in points (48). Since his rookie season in 2007-08, only four players have tallied more helpers than Backstrom’s 306 career assists.
