BOSTON, MA – During tonight's game, the Boston Bruins will honor local military members, veterans, and their families at “Military Appreciation Night” presented by the Army National Guard of Massachusetts and New Hampshire. To show their support for the armed forces, Bruins players Nathan Horton, David Krejci, and Tuukka Rask, have purchased $5,000 worth of tickets to the game to give to local military members and their families. The military members and families who sit in these player-donated seats will have the opportunity to meet the players postgame.
Patrice Bergeron will host Defending The Blue Line in his private suite as part of his Patrice’s Pals program. DTBL is a non-profit organization, which ensures children of military members are afforded every opportunity to participate in the game of hockey.
The soldiers and families in attendance will be honored throughout the game with photo montages on the Garden HDX, Zamboni rides, and video messages. The Bruins Pro Shop and the Fan Zone stores offer 10% off with a military ID at all times. In conjunction with Military Appreciation Night, all military will receive a 20% off discount at the Pro Shop and all Fan Zone locations on the day of the game.
All in-game fundraising from the 50/50 raffle and silent auction of team signed warm-up worn jerseys will benefit the USO. The USO is a nonprofit, congressionally chartered, private organization, which relies on the generosity of individuals, organizations and corporations to support its activities. The USO is not part of the U.S. government, but is recognized by the Department of Defense, Congress and the President of the United States, who serves as Honorary Chairman of the USO.
