BostonBruins.com - The Bruins' contingent of Olympians arrived in Sochi, Russia on Monday after a long flight overseas from Boston, joining Zdeno Chara, whose experience had started earlier than the rest with carrying Slovakia's flag in the Opening Ceremony.
Included in that group was goalie Tuukka Rask, making his first Olympic appearance for Finland.
After a few days of settling in to the Olympic Village, and getting in practice time with his Finnish teammates, Tuukka had the chance to check in, sending along the above [awesome] photo (which can also be found on Instagram @NHLBruins) from in front of the Bolshoy Ice Dome.
The Village and surrounding area is pretty vast (it does have to house 6,000 athletes from 85 nations…) so photos of athletes wheeling around on bikes have services across social media and the Internet.
So, naturally, when Tuukka sent along a photo, he was taking in Sochi on his Team Finland blue bike. The netminder said everything is great, as he preps for his Olympic debut on Thursday (February 13), starting in goal for Finland against Austria.
The puck drops at 3:00 a.m. ET, live on NBC Sports Network. If that wakeup call's too early, I'll have you covered.
