NHL Draft: Day 2 Running Blog

The second day of the NHL Draft in Philadelphia at Wells Fargo Center kicks off at 10:00 a.m. ET on Saturday, June 28, with Rounds 2-7. Broadcast coverage can be found on NHL Network.

On Friday night, the Bruins drafted Czech forward David Pastrnak with the 25th overall pick in the first round. Check out his reaction and GM Peter Chiarelli's take in this feature story.

Here's a rundown of the Bruins' picks...

Second Round
-56th overall pick

Third Round
-Their third round pick (86th) was a conditional pick traded to Philadelphia for Andrej Meszaros on March 5, 2014 at the trade deadline.

Fourth Round
-116th pick

Fifth Round
-146th pick

Sixth Round
-Their sixth round pick (176th) was traded to St. Louis for Wade Redden at the trade deadline on April 3, 2013.

Seventh Round
-206th pick

8:45 AM - Bruins' contingent arrives to the Wells Fargo Center. Soon after, the draft floor begins to fill up again, with plenty of conversations among the clubs' staff. Day 2, let's go...



10:41 AM - The Bruins make their first selection of the day: Bruins select MA native Ryan Donato with the 56th overall pick in the 2nd round. Ryan's father Ted (Harvard's head coach) was selected 98th overall in fifth round by Boston in 1987 and played 8 seasons with the Black & Gold.

11:22 AM - Bruins' second round draft pick, MA native Ryan Donato, meeting with Boston media for the first time after being chosen 56th overall:



11:58 AM - With the 116th overall pick, Boston selects forward Danton Heinen from the Surrey Eagles (BCHL). He will begin his college career at Denver University in 2014-15. Last year Heinen served as the BCHL's youngest captain for the Surrey Eagles, putting up 29 goals and 33 assists for 62 points with a plus-8 rating in 57 games played.

12:26 PM - Boston selects forward Anders Bjork from USA Hockey National Team Development Program in the fifth round, 146th overall. The Mequon, Wisconsin native is committed to the University of Notre Dame for 2014-15.

12:48 PM - Earlier in the day, B's second round draft pick Ryan Donato had a chance to discuss his thoughts on being selected by the Bruins with NHL Network's EJ Hradek. Watch the interview below:

1:29 PM: With their final selection in the 2014 NHL Draft, the Bruins use their seventh round pick (206th overall) to select defenseman Emil Johansson. He is the only non-forward taken by the B's in this year's entry draft.
