Did You Know? With Torey Krug

Torey Krug in CT

Bruins fans may still be learning about defenseman Torey Krug on the ice, but when BostonBruins.com visited with TK in his training home of Stamford, CT, he offered insight into his life off the ice as well.

What are the top five songs on his iPod?
"I can't even name five songs right now," said Torey. "But I'm a very big Kings of Leon fan - their old stuff, their new stuff, everything about them - I love it."

The best movie he's seen this summer?
Krug went with a new release for this one. "I just watched The Campaign with Will Ferrell and Zach Galifanakis," said the defenseman. The review? "It was pretty funny. Four out of five [stars]."

His most embarrassing "hobby"?
After thinking for a moment, Torey chimed in, "I don't know if I have any really embarrassing ones." But then admitted, "I do say that I will listen to the girly tunes sometimes - Call Me Maybe, that's a big hit. I think a lot of guys in the locker room even like that song."

But can he sing it? "No, I'm not a singer, that is one thing that I will not do," he joked. "I'm not singing."

He may not sing, but he is indeed a book reader. "The last book that I read was The Hunger Games and I'm looking forward to starting the second one. It's a good book. I didn't see the movie - I've been waiting for it to come out on DVD."

The one food he wants to eat that his nutrition regimen prohibits?
"The one thing I could eat right now would probably be ice cream." Chocolate, to be exact. "I'm a big ice cream fan and obviously, it's a social event too. You go out with your friends and family and enjoy some ice cream."

With summer in full swing, Torey also said he likes to hit up the driving range or head out for a round of golf, though he quickly pointed out he doesn't know his handicap. "I'm a bad golfer but it's something that I like to do. I probably shoot low-90s, mid-90s on any given day."

"I look the part, but I don't play the part," he added with a laugh.
